- Expression of Interest are invited for Consultancy for the Improvement of Five Water Treatment Plants in Guatemala City. This consultancy aims at supporting the Municipality of Guatemala City by providing different studies to help resolve the water issues it faces. Together with EMPAGUA, IFC has conducted a comprehensive review, and as a result, the following studies have been determined to be needed: A) La Brigada water treatment plant: · Objective: Enhancement of the La Brigada Treatment Plant through the diversion of tributaries in the Mixco and San Cristóbal area. · Expected impact: Incorporation of the capacity to receive water flow ranging from 30 to 50 liters per second. · Studies needed: o Topographical surveys of the components of the La Brigada System, o Hydraulic and hydrologic studies for the definition of water balance, o Study of the condition and status of the raw water pipeline from La Brigada dam to La Brigada plant, o Structural study of the components of the water purification process of the La Brigada plant.
