• The United Nations Development Program hereinafter called UNDP, within the framework of Project 92858 "Comprehensive Environmental Management of the Motagua River Basin", invites National or Foreign Companies or Organizations to submit a proposal in accordance with the Gene Conditions1edf014045db26d31a02a5bbb8891997of the Contract and the Terms of Reference established in this Request for Proposal (RFP). The general objective is to prepare the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (ADT) of the Motagua river basin in accordance with the methodology defined by the GEF (https://iwlearn.net/manuals/tda-sap-methodology) as an input for strategic planning of the binational basin of the Motagua River. Among the specific objectives are:- Identify, analyze, classify and prioritize at the micro-basin/sub-basin level the immediate, underlying and background causes of surface water contamination.and underground and other problems related to the environment, with special attention to the sources of terrestrial contamination and emissions of POPs. - Characterize the socioeconomic consequences with special attention to women and indigenous peoples, as well as the consequencesgal, political and environmental issues of surface and groundwater pollution and other environmental issues. - Identify the specific best practices, places and activities to improve management and reduce the production of waste and pollutants that are the main factorsbefore these problems. - Analyze the baseline conditions and status indicators of environmental and socioeconomic conditions, based on secondary information, related to the surface and groundwater of the binational Motagua river basin and establish theinformation gaps. - Identify the key actors, in sub-basins/micro-basins at the binational level, who have the technical and political capacities to implement priority actions to reduce environmental contamination and start with the integral management of the Mot river basinwater through inter-institutional and multisectoral coordination at the binational level.
